Our Curriculum

In order for children to actively participate in their learning, their voices need to be heard – and their ideas need to be acknowledged. At Ivybrook Academy Franklin, our multi-sensory, discovery-based approach and hybrid curriculum draw from three popular philosophies.

Montessori – Used for over 100 years, this popular approach encourages children to take the lead in their learning and embrace their natural curiosity about the world around them. Students work at their own pace toward individual goals.
Reggio Emilia – This approach is similar to the Montessori method and advocates for children to learn at their own pace. This style embraces collaboration and invites students, teachers, and families to take an active role in education.
Theory of Multiple Intelligences – This theory disproves the “one-size-fits-all" education model and shows that every child’s mind is different and will, therefore, learn, comprehend, and perform differently. This theory supports adapting curriculum to each child’s unique needs.

This balanced curriculum provides a customizable learning experience for all our students, regardless of their age or learning level. Our team of educators is fully committed to ensuring that every student is given the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Year-Round Learning

Our Franklin preschool offers our academic preschool programs for ten months during the year, but the learning doesn’t need to stop just because the temperature outside goes up.

We offer part-day camps over the summer break for children ages 2 through 6 that provide a fun way for kids to spend their summer days. They’ll have such a great time, they’ll have no idea they are learning!
