Each year, Ivybrook Academy awards one individual the title of Administrator of the Year. The pool is from every campus across the country, and the selection criteria is competitive since so many Ivybrook Academy administrators have long tenure in their careers and with Ivybrook.
For 2026, Ivybrook Academy in Greenville is proud to announce that our own Kathleen Bookbinder was named Ivybrook Academy Administrator of the Year at the annual conference in July.
Kathleen Bookbinder has been active in the field of education for over 35 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Science Degree in Special Education and a 6th Year of Advanced Study in School Administration and Supervision. A former classroom teacher, Miss Kathleen has also served as a K-5 Literacy Coordinator and administrator in private and public schools in Connecticut and South Carolina, and she is a certified teacher trainer for SC Endeavors, South Carolina’s statewide educator support and training resource center. In addition to her work in education, Kathleen has had her writing for children published in a variety of children’s magazines including Highlights, Boy’s Life, Boy’s Quest, Nature Friend and Imagination Café.
Kathleen is grateful to have found, in Ivybrook Academy Greenville, the opportunity to create the educational space she always wanted for her own children—a true community where administrators, educators, parents and families partner, with open communication and understanding, to create a space where children and learning are celebrated, children feel safe and respected, and the capacity for teaching and learning soars!
