Owner's Story

Michael and Brittney Babb are dedicated to introducing Ivybrook Academy’s unique and sought after educational approach to Colorado Springs, enriching the community’s early childhood education landscape.
Brittney Babb brings a wealth of experience in Early Childhood Education from being a Kindergarten tutor, Administrator and Assistant Director of a childcare and preschool facility, to project management for early literacy programs at the Colorado Department of Education. Brittney’s love for children, belief in quality education and superior care have driven her to bring this one-of-a-kind educational experience to Colorado Springs.
Michael Babb has over 20 years of experience in finance and business, currently serving as the CFO and Athletic Director of Finance for the Air Force Academy. With an MBA and a strong commitment to community service, he plays a crucial role in supporting Ivybrook’s mission.
Together, the Babbs co-founded Royal Family KIDS Camp and Mentoring Program, a local non-profit that offers a week of camp and ongoing mentoring for foster children in El Paso County. Although they have transitioned from directorship to focus on their family, they remain actively involved in supporting the organization.
As proud parents of three children—Trey, Ciera, and Weston—Michael and Brittney view family as their greatest achievement. They are thrilled to bring Ivybrook Academy’s innovative approach, which combines the best elements of Reggio Emilia and Montessori methods, to Colorado Springs. Their mission is to encourage natural curiosity, foster engagement with the world, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning in every child.
