At our Cumming Preschool, we take an innovative approach to early childhood education that encourages critical thinking, nurtures creativity, and fosters a love for learning.

Ivybrook was founded by a school teacher who noticed a lack of multidimensional learning opportunities for her students. She set out to create a learning environment that focused on the strengths and needs of each child. Children have a natural curiosity about the world and we cultivate that curiosity through our intentionally designed sensory-rich learning environments.

We offer the following half-day programs:

Toddler Preschool
Preschool for 2-Year-Olds
Preschool for 3-Year-Olds
Preschool for 4 & 5-Year-Olds
Private Kindergarten

Our Curriculum

Our hybrid curriculum draws from three different philosophies that each help to build a solid foundation for young children during their formative years. This integrative approach allows us the flexibility to customize the learning experience to the specific needs of each child and allow their individual voices to be heard and honored.

These three philosophies include:

Montessori – This approach encourages children to embrace their curiosity and explore the world around them and has been used in schools for over 100 years.
Reggio Emilia – This approach is similar to the Montessori method and allows children to work and learn at their own pace. This is a collaborative style that invites families, teachers, and peers into the learning experience.
Theory of Multiple Intelligences – This theory explains that children learn, perform, remember, and comprehend differently, so the curriculum needs to be adapted to a child’s specific needs in order to see the best results.

Learning Never Ends with Our Summer Program

Ivybrook Academy Cumming believes that children should never stop learning, which is why we are happy to offer our Summer Camp program for children ages 2 through 6. Every year, we offer new, exciting program themes consisting of educational experiences and activities that children love. They’ll have so much fun, they’ll have no idea they’re learning!
